Frequently asked questions

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open the Settings app on your iPhone โ†’ tap your name โ†’ Subscriptions โ†’ Bodha โ†’ Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We cannot cancel subscriptions on your behalf โ€” Apple manages all billing.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the Bodha charge, and select "Request a refund." Apple's standard refund policy applies.

How do I restore my premium access on a new device?

Open Bodha โ†’ go to Settings โ†’ tap "Restore Purchases." Your subscription is tied to your Apple ID, so as long as you sign in with the same Apple ID, your access will be restored automatically.

Are my journal entries private?

Yes. Your entries are stored in your personal Firebase account under your unique user ID. When you use AI features, your current entry is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response โ€” Anthropic does not store or train on your data under our API agreement. We do not sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I delete my account and data?

Email us at bodhajournal@outlook.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request." We will permanently delete your account and all associated data within 30 days. You can also delete individual journal entries directly within the app.

The AI response doesn't feel right for me. What should I do?

AI responses are generated automatically and won't always be perfect. Bodha is a journaling companion, not a therapist โ€” if you feel the response missed the mark, you can ignore it and continue writing. If a response felt harmful or inappropriate, please email us so we can investigate.

I found a bug. How do I report it?

Email bodhajournal@outlook.com with a description of what happened, your iPhone model, and iOS version. Screenshots are very helpful. We take all bug reports seriously.

What is LifeContext? What does Bodha remember about me?

LifeContext is a short summary of your goals, priorities, and patterns that Bodha maintains over time to personalise AI responses. It is stored in your Firebase account and sent to Claude API as context with each AI request. You can view and reset your LifeContext in the Settings screen within the app.

Why does Bodha ask me to agree to terms before my first journal entry?

When you use AI features, your journal text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API. We ask for your explicit agreement before this happens so you know exactly what's occurring with your data. This is a one-time step.
